Women’s involvement in fields or workplaces where they can be given leadership roles will certainly prove that their skills, attitudes, and values also deserve to be recognized and given more credit.

That said, here are some of the best reasons why women in positions of leadership are absolutely needed in the world we live in today!

1. Women show exceptional leadership qualities

Not all women have the same leadership styles, but they generally possess exceptional leadership qualities that others may not know about.

Women are known for bringing and inviting creative ideas or perspectives to the table, as they can freely apply what they have learned from their experiences and use their emotions intelligently to connect more with their people.

In fact, more women were rated as better overall leaders by their peers, bosses, direct reports, and other associates, given their competencies in taking initiatives, self-development, high integrity, collaboration and teamwork, stretching goals, and relationship building.

Thus, when women become leaders, they do not monopolize the work process. Rather, they are active in gathering the overall views of the entire team to create positive influence and achieve a common goal that everyone has worked hard for.

Women, by nature, excel at communicating and collaborating in all aspects of their lives, and it is no different when they have to lead their people.

Although their position gives them the authority to command, they still sound composed and calm in a way that does not impose intimidation. Through this, truth and transparency within the team are nurtured.

Several studies in the last 30 years have also revealed that what makes women better communicators is their communication style: they know how to talk about existing problems, how to foster connections when negotiating, and how to maintain interaction to achieve common goals rather than seeking full control.

Women are more likely to use this form of leadership than the authoritative type, making them more effective and influential.

4. Women leaders offer good mentorship

Every individual requires someone to mentor them as they advance throughout the stages of their life. In particular, women leaders actually excel in mentorship, considering that they are more empathetic, open to discussions, and have greater communication skills.

A strong feminine leadership was said to include supporting, consulting, inspiring, and mentoring.

As studies proved, women are given more mentorship roles because they excel at leadership development and ensuring objective performance evaluations.

Also, women leaders can easily discuss or elaborate on the strengths and weaknesses of their mentees to provide them with a better development plan and training.

Realistically speaking, gender gaps exist in all parts of society, even around the world. Their space to showcase their exceptional skills remains terribly small and restricted because they are often seen as inferior to others.
