ABS-CBN and Silka have collaborated to bring back the search for lovely Filipinas in the beauty pageant “Binibining Silka 2023.”

“This year, we believe that it’s the best year to actually relaunch Miss Silka with its new title Binibining Silka. It will be bigger and bolder and a pageant like you’ve never seen before because it’s Silka with ABS-CBN,” said Silka senior brand manager Eunice de Belen.

ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo penned the upcoming pageant theme song titled “Kumikinang” to be performed by Kapamilya artist Angeline Quinto.

“Yung lyrics ng song embodies kung ano ang hinahanap natin sa isang Binibining Silka,” said Jonathan.

ABS-CBN Regional in partnership with ABS-CBN Events will be staging the regional leg of the pageant, which will start in Bicol on August 5, Dagupan for North Luzon leg on Aug. 12, Ilocos on Aug. 19, and Palawan on Aug. 26.

The regional competitions will continue on Sept. 2 in Western Visayas, Sept. 3 in Pampanga for Central Luzon region, Sept. 16 in Northern Mindanao, Sept. 17 in Batangas for Southern Tagalog, Sept. 23 in Central Eastern Visayas, Sept. 30 in Southern Mindanao, Oct. 7 in Western Mindanao, and Oct. 14 in the National Capital Region.

The grand coronation night, to be produced also by ABS-CBN Events, will happen on October 29. The winner will receive P500,000 cash prize and a chance to be seen in ABS-CBN shows.

Binibining Silka started out as a small pageant in 2008 before it extended the competition across the country in 2009. It last held its national pageant in 2019.
