Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) launches the global edition of the âManila International Film Festival 2023â (MIFF 2023) in Los Angeles, California, for a private Hollywood screening of selected independent films.
MIFF 2023 will take place on November 2 at the Directors Guild of America Sunset Boulevard. The launch was in lieu of MMFFâs 50th celebration in 2024.
According to MIFF 2023âs website, the launch aims âto showcase, promote, and help uplift Filipino films from the Philippines in Hollywood and beyond” and âbridge the gap between the two worlds and connect the Philippine entertainment industry with that of Hollywood and the international stage.”
On their Instagram page, MIFF posted the launchâs program flow, including the three films for screening: Here Comes the Groom (Enchong Dee and Miles Ocampo), Love You Long Time (Carlo Aquino and Eisel Serrano), and About Us But Not About Us (Romnick Sarmenta and Elijah Canlas).

It will also have a cast meet-and-greet, including the writers and directors of the respective films. The launching will also be a presentation of MIFF, followed by a question-and-answer forum.
MIFF will be screening eight more film entries in late January; only four entries have been confirmed so far based on its scripts: A Mother and Sonâs Story, (K)Ampon, Penduko, and Rewind, while the four last entries shall be confirmed from finished films.
Although there are no final dates for the eighth film entries, Filipinos based in LA will still be graced by the films, cast, and crew on MIFF 2023âs upcoming launching day.
