Pouring rain, strong winds, cancelled plans and now you’re stuck inside all day long. Most people are saddened by the thought that the only option they have is to stay in bed, watch the latest movies or just sleep. In fact, there are plenty of fun and productive things you can do without leaving the house or taking off your pajamas.

Here are some of the best ways to pass the time:

1. Work it out

The rain shouldn’t stop you from working out. Although the rain may stop you from going to the gym, you can still do it at home with a much longer session. Working out is the perfect way to start your day as it helps your brain function at the top of its game. Exercise also helps you live a longer life by creating a healthier lifestyle. Relaxing, clear-headed, strong, raising energy levels and stress-free are only a few of the benefits of working out.

2. Enjoy a coffee

Make your favorite coffee and just enjoy sipping it while looking out at the pouring rain outside. You can listen to music, to a podcast, the rain or just have a bit of realization.

3. Try a new recipe

Trying a new recipe is the best thing to do when it’s raining because all of the family members are at home. It’s time to show off your skills in the kitchen and cook something for them.

4. Organize your things

Since you have been staying outside for a long time now, after all the travel bans are lifted. Some of your things may not look appealing or not be in proper storage. This is your chance to reorganize your things and achieve that aesthetic look.

5. Finish something you’ve been working on

As the travel ban has been lifted, we’re all busy having all the time to hang out, and we have forgotten that there may be a book, a movie, or a project we haven’t done yet. So, grab this time to make the most of it.

6. Pamper yourself

Pamper yourself in a cheaper way at home! You can put on a mud mask (or any other mask), a lip mask, an eye mask, do some facial rolling or gua sha, have a bubble bath and more. You do you! A rainy day is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself.

7. Take on a DIY project

Maybe you have been eyeing to achieve that aesthetic room makeover but you have so little time with you? Well, it’s time to finally cross that off your bucket list.

8. Do a social media cleanse

Excessive social media has been linked to depression and anxiety, especially when you are engaging with a lot of toxic people online. Rather than spending your time mindlessly scrolling, use the time to weed out people you don’t want to see in your feed. Unfollow those people who cause you negative feelings.

9. Try a new hobby

Spark a new hobby by trying something new! With the internet, you can easily teach yourself pretty much everything. During the pandemic, a lot of people discovered new hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, digital art, fashion styling, selling, etc. You can try all of these or discover something for yourself. Take all the hours to try something you’ve always wanted to learn.

10. Rest and recharge

Sounds like doing nothing at all, right? Well, it’s actually considered a productive thing to do during the rainy season because you are recharging when you’re sleeping. It means that you are preparing for the next busy days of your life.

11. Make life plans

Take the time to clearly write out your life goals, whether they are for career, family, health, or even just a little project or something you want to achieve. Defining what you want to do is the first step to getting it done.

Rainy season is not really a lazy day nor a downer. It is on you. You have to find a way to make it more productive, healthier, and happier. Always take advantage of the time you have to spend at home. Do something good for yourself, finish some old projects or do something new. Every second counts, so don’t let it slip away doing nothing at all.
